Hier semble si loin is a project of experimental historiography by Acadian artist Rémi Belliveau, in which a historical fiction is performed and inserted into the fragmented and little-known history of rock in the Acadian communities of New Brunswick. Anchored in several years of research and artifact collection, the resulting narrative seeks to validate the hybrid and ever-changing nature of Acadian identity by asserting its right not to identify with either of the dominant musical cultures of Eastern Canada, namely Anglo-Maritime or Franco-Quebecois.
